The Bushfire Model® is a physical model of a fireground used by firefighters across Australia for training courses, demonstrations and tabletop exercises.

With a flexible landscape and elements including vehicles, appliances, fire shapes, aircraft and assets, the model provides an engaging platform for learning and discussion.

These models enable brigades and trainers to demonstrate fire behaviour and suppression, while supporting exercises that strengthen both strategic and tactical firefighting skills.

As a registered design, the Bushfire Model works because firefighters are practical hands-on people.

‘The kit is extremely adaptive to teach direct and indirect fire fighting techniques, the various modes of RUI and overall incident management; from public warnings and upgrades/downgrades of those, understanding the need to establish trigger zones, PAFTACS, LACES and so much more.’
