About
I started as a volunteer firefighter in the 1980's working alongside my father and others in our community.
Over the last 40 years, I have worked as a firefighter with the forestry, parks & wildlife and as a volunteer. During this time I have worked with very experienced firefighters at local fires through to large level 3 incidents in Western Australia, New South Wales and Victoria. In recent times I have also worked as a firefighter and trainer for a state fire department, delivering a range of bushfire and incident management training courses.
Lynette and I built the first Bushfire Model in 2016 to help a local firefighter share his knowledge with new brigade members. The success of this first session quickly led to requests for more models. In recent times these requests have included models for Fire & Rescue Service and State Emergency Service personnel.
We are based in regional Western Australia where our small business designs and supplies training models to brigades, mining companies and fire departments across Australia.
Our aim is to help firefighters share their knowledge.
The ongoing feedback and support that we receive from firefighters and fire departments across Australia is a huge part of the Bushfire Model’s success.
We make each model by hand; an investment in time that maintains our aim of helping firefighters share their knowledge.
